a team of students making scholarships and extraships easier to find and apply to.
our story
scholaro started as "hittastipendier.com" in a london student dorm, manually matching swedish students studying in the uk or us with scholarships. after getting tons of messages and emails through facebook, the service grew bigger and more complex.
we created scholaro from our own struggles as students. finding relevant scholarships felt impossible – it took forever, was super frustrating, and rarely paid off. we invented the term "extraships" for internships, sponsored thesis writing, and part-time student jobs, because we saw the same problems there.
we realized tons of deserving students were missing out just because they didn't know about these opportunities or couldn't find them easily. and this wasn't just in sweden and norway, it was everywhere. so we built scholaro to fix this and make education funding accessible to everyone. we're starting in the nordics and will expand to new areas soon.
based in stockholm, sweden, our team of ai engineers and designers uses tech to solve real-world student problems. we're powered by the latest, greatest generative ai – and our main ai is named gustav.
